Prophet BusinessGroup: Prophet.ca
In 2011, we were hired on to help Prophet Business Group with a problem that is common for small and mid-sized companies. The growing accounting software and IT firm knew it needed communications support, but it wasn’t sure how it should get it. They knew they needed full time help, but didn’t feel they could afford top drawer talent. Another option might have been to subcontract all their work to an agency like ours. That would have given them the expertise and experience they sought, but the costs could have been even higher than hiring a senior practitioner. We sat down with the company’s principals and came up with a new plan: Prophet would engage Dooley Communications to help recruit and hire a bright young communicator, oversee the creation of a complete strategy, then mentor the communicator so he could mature into the role. The result so far have been very positive. Prophet has the communications expertise it wants, overseen by an experienced, senior level PR professional, while also keeping a hard cap on costs.
