		<description>I have to agree that they're sacrificing openness and democratic discourse to keep some loons quiet. Again, I think it's sad.</description>

		<description>Yes, but loose lips sink ships and the Conservatives have a higher percentage of candidates on the lunatic fringe than most other parties.  Previous elections were almost cooked by Conservative candidates "speaking their mind" particularly on social issues, where many of them do not hold the opinions of the majority.  Too careful?  Perhaps.  Necessary?  Absolutely.  Does it breed distrust?  Definitely, but I think they'll happily deal with distrust over an explosive public debate on abortion, the death penalty and other fringe religious beliefs.</description>
